READING, PA — The Salvation Army of Reading has been selected as a beneficiary of the GIANT Bags 4 My Cause Program for the month of March.

The GIANT Bags 4 My Cause Program, which launched in February 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities in which shoppers live and work. The program features the reusable Bags 4 My Cause bag with a special tag attached to it that allows customers to direct a donation to a non-profit of their choice upon purchase. The Salvation Army of Reading’s Festival of Easter Baskets Returns to Berkshire Mall

18th Annual Event Raises Money for Emergency Social Services for Berks County Residents

The Salvation Army of Reading presents the 18th annual Festival of Easter Baskets, Wednesday, March 21 through Saturday, March 24 at the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing, PA. An estimated 75 creative gift baskets, designed and donated by local businesses, organizations and individuals, will be on display outside Boscov’s at the Berkshire Mall. During this time when individuals donate $1 or more to The Salvation Army, they will receive tickets to be entered into a random drawing for the basket of their choice. The drawing will occur at noon on Saturday, March 24 at Boscov’s. If winners are not present, they will be notified by phone to pick up their baskets.

The Salvation Army of Reading Seeks Volunteers for After-School Program

Copy of IMG_0155The Salvation Army of Reading is in need of volunteers for its after-school program.  Up to 70 children in first through ninth grade are enrolled in the program, which is open Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm, at The Salvation Army of Reading on S. 5th Street.

“Volunteers are especially valuable to our after-school program,” said Lt.
