The grassy fenced-in area on the corner of Broad and Brown Streets is somewhat of a special place for families at the Red Shield Residence. The Salvation Army Greater Philadelphia‘s transitional housing program is safe, loving, respectful and compassionate, providing families in crisis with shelter and services as they strive towards self-sufficiency. The yard next to the building is a space where families can let their kids play and enjoy some outdoor time together there as they navigate a difficult time in their lives. Hundreds Expected at The Salvation Army of York’s Annual Event
Hundreds of quilters, seamstresses and needle crafters are expected at The Salvation Army of York’s upcoming annual Fabric Fair.
The greatly anticipated three-day event will be held:
- Thursday, June 16, 10 am – 4 pm
- Friday, June 17, 10 am – 7 pm
- Saturday, June 18, 9 am – 11 am, and noon – 2 pm
The Soon-to-Be High School Grads Will be Honored at May 24 Awards Dinner
The Salvation Army of Lancaster will help 15 Lancaster County high school seniors further their education by awarding them college scholarships at a special dinner, 7 pm, Tuesday, May 24, at Eden Resort in Lancaster. The Olga Ruth Stratton Scholarship program provides at least $1,000 for tuition costs to each student selected. Amounts depend on a student’s need, circumstances and available scholarship funds.
