With just ten days left until Christmas, The Salvation Army of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware announced today that donations to its annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign are down throughout the region, presently at 50-percent of its overall goal.

The iconic tradition of bell ringers and red kettles is the most recognizable fundraising effort of The Salvation Army. Passersby can place monetary donations inside the red kettles, which will be stationed in prominent locations throughout the region until December 23.  The Salvation Army is sending an urgent plea to individuals, corporations and groups to generously give to the Red Kettle campaign. Salvation Army of Norristown Offering Holiday Assistance to Local Families in Need

IMG_4527The Salvation Army of Norristown announced today it will be accepting applications from local families in need to receive holiday assistance. Members of the community may apply to receive Christmas food baskets and gifts for children age 12 and under.  Captains Curtis and Felicia Flora, Corps Officers, The Salvation Army of Norristown, anticipate serving at least 600-700 families this holiday season.

“Everyone deserves a meaningful holiday celebration,” said Captain Curtis Flora. “Thanks to the generosity of the community and partner agencies, we are able to provide this assistance, along with hope and comfort, to those in need each year,” he added.
