CHESTER, PA (May 7, 2019) – The Salvation Army of Chester announced today it is a recipient of a $15,000 grant from The Foundation of Delaware County, which will be used to make much-needed improvements to its kitchen facilities. The Salvation Army of Chester’s feeding programs provide more than 36,000 meals a year to underserved residents of Chester, specifically focusing on adolescents and older adults.

Salvation Army officers and staff from across Pennsylvania will convene at State Capitol in Harrisburg on Wednesday, May 1, to share with legislators the work The Salvation Army is doing to better the lives of tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians every day.
More than 150 Salvation Army representatives will meet their local representatives to discuss the need in their respective areas and describe the important services they provide to citizens, such as: food assistance, housing, social services, anti-human trafficking efforts, senior citizen and youth community programming, emergency disaster services, and much more. Philadelphia, PA (April 16, 2019) – The Salvation Army of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware has dispatched teams with its Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) to Sussex County, Delaware and Columbia and Sullivan Counties in Eastern Pennsylvania in response to severe storms on Monday.
The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down in the community of Laurel, Delaware on Monday. The Salvation Army dispatched a canteen (mobile feeding unit) to the hardest hit neighborhood, where 25 homes were damaged or destroyed. The team provided meals to impacted residents in that neighborhood and at a Red Cross shelter nearby. The Salvation Army is offering emergency assistance to families in the affected area. The Salvation Army of Eastern Pennsylvania is proud to announce Lt. Colonels Janet and Larry Ashcraft as its new Divisional Leaders. The Ashcrafts take over the reins held by Lt. Colonels Stephen and Janet Banfield, who retired in the Spring of 2019.
The Ashcrafts are responsible for the administrative oversight for all personnel, financial and program components of 51 Salvation Army Corps Community Centers, 163 volunteer service centers, residential programs and The Salvation Army Camp Ladore Retreat and Conference Center. Adventurous Duos Sought to Compete for $1,000 Top Prize
CARLISLE, PA (March 6, 2019) – The Salvation Army of Carlisle announced today registration is open for its fourth annual Most Amazing Race, which is set for Saturday, May 18 in Carlisle. This year’s theme is “Monopoly.” The event, which is made possible with the support of Sunrise Rotary Club and sponsored by M & T Bank and GIANT, was inspired by the CBS show “The Amazing Race” and sends teams of two all over Carlisle in an effort to win a grand prize of $1,000. Second place finishers take home $500 and third place wins $250.
Project Frontline is the First of its Kind in Susquehanna Valley

CARLISLE, PA (January 29, 2019) — The Salvation Army of Carlisle wants the public to know it is open as a warming center for anyone who needs to get out of the frigid weather. When temperatures are 32 degrees or colder, The Salvation Army opens its doors from 8am until 9pm, offering hot coffee and snacks for free to members of the community.
