New Grant Helps Salvation Army of Chester Renovate Kitchen to Meet High Demand for Feeding Assistance

CHESTER, PA (May 7, 2019) The Salvation Army of Chester announced today it is a recipient of a $15,000 grant from The Foundation of Delaware County, which will be used to make much-needed improvements to its kitchen facilities. The Salvation Army of Chester’s feeding programs provide more than 36,000 meals a year to underserved residents of Chester, specifically focusing on adolescents and older adults.

Each year, The Salvation Army of Chester supports thousands of local individuals and families in need through its feeding programs (food pantry, free breakfast and lunch for those in need), homeless shelter, life skills seminars, music instruction, after-school programming, sports fellowship (afternoon and evening youth basketball) and summer camp.
